Lehigh Acres

Lehigh Acres is in Lee County Florida, just east of Fort Myers. It is currently unincorporated, but due to its growth and size, it will likely be a separate city someday.

Lehigh Acres and nearby Cape Coral didn’t really start getting developed until the 1950s. Growth in Lehigh was much slower than in Cape Coral. You wouldn’t realize this now, but back in 1997, nearly 90% of lots were still vacant.

Lehigh Acres has numerous parks, miles of freshwater canals, shopping, golf courses, and more. But the real draw is its location near Fort Myers – and being affordable. That general affordability attracts families and snowbirds alike. If you are still working, you are just a short drive to other more expensive areas of SWFL like Fort Myers, Bonita/Estero, and Naples FL.

Tourism exists in Lehigh Acres but is much more laid-back than in other areas. If you would like an affordable winter getaway, Lehigh has numerous affordable options and several very nice 55+ communities. This affordable suburban community is the ideal retreat for families and seniors.

Easy access to main roads like Lee Blvd, I-75, and State Rd 82 offer easy access to all SWFL. Check it out!
